Advice - Frost / freezing
If the temperature falls below -2°C, you should protect the roots of your maples to keep them from freezing.
The dissectums Acer buergerianum are more sensitive to root kill than palmatum.
Late frosts can also be very detrimental to your trees, and the damage can even be irreversible.
Tip :
We strongly recommend the use of P17 protective sheeting, but it must not be allowed to come into contact with the leaves.
Acers
grown in pots need root protection, whereas Acers grown directly in the
ground can withstand temperatures as low as -8°C to -15°C, depending on
the varieties.
