Advice - Planting in the ground
Planting in the ground
Just before planting, soak the plant in a bucket of water with its root ball in a net, burlap or a container, for at least fifteen minutes.
Dig a hole 4 to 5 times bigger than the root ball.
Take care to loosen up the soil at the bottom of the hole, to a depth of about 10 centimetres.
Then mix in a basal fertilizer dressing such as dried manure or horn meal.
Remember to stake up the plant so it can put out new roots without damage from winds that shake the trunk and branches.
