Description

'Sir Damon' is a new selection of Japanese maples with a coral-like bark and much brighter red new growth. The bark stays more deep red colored than the typical red Japanese maple Sango kaki even when getting older.
The green leaves of 'Sir Damon' provide a lovely contrast with the red bark in spring and summer. In autumn, 'Sir Damon' turns to a dazzling yellow color. Sir Damon' is a creation from Mr. Crispin's Silva, United States of America, named after his son "Damon". Like most coral bark maples, we recommend a partially shady exposure to bring out the colors of the bark. The adult height of this variety will be approximately 3 meters (within 10 years).
